Ghost Run Club (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Health and Fitness Data

Ghost Run Club integrates with Apple Health to:

• Read: Heart rate, workout history, and activity data to provide accurate tracking and ghost comparisons
• Write: Workout sessions you complete using the app to your Apple Health records

Location Data

We collect your location data when you track outdoor runs to:

• Record GPS routes and distance traveled
• Calculate pace and elevation changes
• Enable ghost racing against your previous runs

Location data is only collected while you're actively tracking a run, or when background tracking is enabled during an active workout.

Motion and Fitness Data

We access motion sensors to track steps and indoor running activities when GPS is unavailable.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to:

• Track and record your running activities
• Generate ghost runners from your previous performances
• Provide real-time feedback during workouts
• Display your running history and statistics
• Sync data between your iPhone and Apple Watch

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: All your running data is stored locally on your device and in your iCloud account (if enabled)
• Cloud Sync (Optional): If you enable cloud sync, your runs and profile data may be stored on our secure servers (powered by Supabase) to enable cross-device sync and social features. Cloud sync requires signing in with Apple.
• No Third-Party Sharing: Your personal data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes
• Apple Health Integration: Data shared with Apple Health is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
• Encryption: All data transmitted to cloud servers is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL

Cloud Sync Features

If you choose to enable cloud sync by signing in with Apple, the following data may be stored on our servers:

• Your email address (for account identification)
• Display name and profile information you provide
• Run summaries (distance, pace, duration, heart rate averages)
• Shared ghost data (if you choose to share ghosts publicly)
• Training group memberships and challenge participations

You can disable cloud sync at any time in the app settings. Deleting your account will remove all cloud-stored data.

Your Privacy Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: View all your stored running data within the app
• Delete: Remove individual runs or all data from the app settings
• Permissions: Revoke location or health data access at any time through iOS Settings
• Export: Your data remains in Apple Health and can be exported using Apple's data export tools

Children's Privacy

Ghost Run Club is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
